The Stella Doradus R4-LCD is a four-band cellular repeater designed to improve indoor mobile coverage in homes, villas, small offices, shops and other SOHO environments where a usable operator signal is available outside but is weakened by walls, reinforced concrete, low floors, coated glass or building geometry.
The system receives the available outdoor cellular signal through a donor antenna, amplifies the supported bands and redistributes the signal indoors. It does not require a customer SIM card or fixed broadband connection for its RF repeater function.
The repeater relays the available operator RF signal; a customer SIM card or fixed internet connection is not required for signal amplification.
Stella Doradus repeater systems are engineered and manufactured in Ireland for professional indoor mobile coverage applications.
A professional full-band repeater platform for deployment under applicable European radio equipment requirements and project rules.
R4-LCD does not create a new mobile network signal. A usable operator signal must be present at the outdoor antenna location. Correct antenna placement, RF isolation and cable design determine the final indoor coverage.
Receives the available mobile operator signal at a suitable point outside the building.
Amplifies the supported cellular bands under automatic RF control.
Carries the signal between the repeater and the outdoor and indoor antennas with controlled cable loss.
Redistributes the amplified cellular signal into the required room or indoor coverage area.
R4-LCD is a single-port commercial-grade SOHO repeater. Depending on the available outdoor signal, room sizes, wall materials, antenna placement and RF losses, the system is designed for small and medium indoor coverage projects and can serve approximately up to five rooms.
The following band structure reflects the R4-LCD configuration used on the BağLAN product page.
| Band | Nominal Band | Downlink | Uplink |
|---|---|---|---|
| B20 | 800 MHz | 791–821 MHz | 832–862 MHz |
| B8 | 900 MHz | 925–960 MHz | 880–915 MHz |
| B3 | 1800 MHz | 1805–1880 MHz | 1710–1785 MHz |
| B1 | 2100 MHz | 2110–2170 MHz | 1920–1980 MHz |
R4-LCD uses automatic RF-control functions to help maintain stable operation and reduce the risk of oscillation, excessive output or unnecessary uplink activity.
Detects feedback conditions caused by insufficient isolation between outdoor and indoor antennas and automatically reduces gain to help restore stable operation.
Monitors RF levels and adjusts gain to help prevent excessive output and keep the repeater within a suitable operating range.
Reduces unnecessary RF output when there is no active voice or mobile-data communication through the repeater.
Adapts repeater output according to the detected donor-signal level and the current RF environment.
Yes. Additional indoor antennas can be used with suitable splitters and RF cabling, provided the complete link budget is checked before installation.
Each additional splitter and every metre of RF cable introduces loss. Therefore, the number of indoor antennas should not be selected only from the number of rooms. Outdoor signal level, required indoor level, cable length, splitter loss and antenna gain must be evaluated together.
This is particularly important with a single-port SOHO repeater, where the available downlink power is shared between all branches of the indoor distribution system.
The BağLAN field calculation tool evaluates R4-LCD output power together with SD400-FR-2 cable loss, splitter loss and indoor antenna gain to estimate the applicable indoor distribution cable length.
R4-LCD supports PortSense, a Stella Doradus connection-checking technology that helps installers verify the physical RF path between the repeater, cables, connectors and compatible antennas during installation.
Correctly connected compatible Smart Antennas and repeater ports provide visual LED confirmation. If the expected indication is not present, the installer can check the relevant RF cable, connector or antenna before proceeding with coverage and isolation measurements.
PortSense simplifies the physical installation check; final coverage quality still depends on donor-signal level, antenna isolation, building loss, cable loss and correct RF design.
Indoor coverage improvement where walls, reinforced concrete or building geometry weaken an otherwise usable outdoor signal.
Meeting rooms, internal corridors and central office areas where voice calls or mobile-data performance is weak.
Street-level, semi-basement or enclosed commercial spaces where building materials reduce indoor cellular coverage.
Areas below ground or on lower levels where usable outdoor operator signal exists but building penetration loss is high.
